La Casa de la Luna was designed by the Mexican arquitect Hector Guevara who became known for building several high end homes on the Pacific coast of Mexico.
The owners of Casa de la Luna wanted a home that would be an architectural gem in itself, rising out of its pool and surrounded by a lush tropical garden, without the need of further decoration.
La Casa de la Luna is a very solid house. The aluminum windows, the walls and columns are of higher quality to withstand tropical weather.
The home is full of details, from the wooden beams embedded in the walls of the living area to the eight zapote logs protruding from the ceiling of the terrace over the pool, to the hand made ónyx lamps of the master bedroom. The most striking feature when you enter the house are the ten stained glass windows representing the blue ocean of the island.
As you open the sliding doors, the terrace and the living area blend together, creating a space that is perfect when entertaining friends.
The beautiful pool is big enough to swim laps, or take scuba lessons. It is finished in blue tiling. It is 14 by 4.5 meters (46 by 15 feet) at its widest and has 3 different depths and a comfortable ledge to sit and enjoy your favorite tropical drink, surrounded by the mature tropical garden (bananas, coconuts, papaya, passion fruit, grapefruit, mandarin tree).
Three of the four bedrooms have their own bathrooms. One of the bedrooms is on the first floor, and it´s quite independent from the rest of the house, making it ideal for a guest room or a little studio with a separate entrance that can also be used as an office. The house is 100 % air conditioned.
The spacious kitchen has an island with an additional sink, all the countertops are solid granite.
The island´s stunning sunsets can be enjoyed from the palapa, set on the very top of the house.
The house can be supplied with water from its own well or from the city water supply.
Enclosed parking and a storage room with scuba gear rinse tank.
